Washington, D.C.

World renown medical expert Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., otherwise known as “RFK” to alternative culture fanboys, has tapped lawyer Aaron Siri to ask the FDA to revoke approval for the polio vaccine and hepatitus B vaccine, as well as end distribution for 13 other critical vaccines.

Polio, a crippling and potentially deadly viral disease, was first identified in 1789. Major outbreaks began in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, causing widespread fear and paralysis, especially in children.By the early 20th century, it was understood that the disease was caused by a virus.

The history of the polio vaccine is a remarkable story of scientific achievement and public health success. Polio, a crippling disease that caused widespread fear in the early 20th century, saw its first breakthrough in 1955 with Dr. Jonas Salk’s inactivated polio vaccine (IPV), which used killed virus particles and was administered via injection. This was followed in the early 1960s by Dr. Albert Sabin’s oral polio vaccine (OPV), made with a weakened live virus, which was easier to administer and provided long-lasting immunity. Mass vaccination campaigns drastically reduced polio cases worldwide, and the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI), launched in 1988, has brought the world to the brink of eliminating the disease. Today, wild poliovirus remains endemic in only two countries, Afghanistan and Pakistan, with occasional outbreaks in areas with low vaccination coverage.

Alas, after viewing a few videos on YouTube, HHS nominee RFK is convinced he has all of the answers.
